First Light- Driftwood Painting
First Light- Driftwood Painting
I walk the beach of Cape May each morning searching for sea glass and Cape May Diamonds for my jewelry. Along the way I pick up beach trash and driftwood. Lately I have been inspired by the natural seascapes the oceans wears into the driftwood. I gently coax these images from the wood with acrylic paint, allowing the texture of the wood to become part of the painting. This piece of wood is from the bottom of a bushel basket.
These paintings are meant to sit on a shelf or table, to keep the ocean near by while you work or relax. A great gift idea!
The painting is approximately 15 inches wide x 7 1/4 inches tall including the base.
